THE UNLIKELY SINNER

By JEFF BRAUN

Murders across different cities seem unconnected—until a shocking discovery ties them together in a chilling web of deceit and retribution.

A former concentration camp commandant is brutally murdered on the streets of Düsseldorf. The bludgeoned body of a renowned anesthesiologist washes ashore on a Florida beach. Two mutilated corpses are unearthed from shallow graves in upstate New York. At first glance, these horrific deaths appear unrelated, but a startling coincidence soon emerges, linking these gruesome crimes.

A tenacious detective, a relentless Nazi hunter in Germany, and a psychiatrist in Palm Beach are drawn together by a single thread—a thread that leads them to the most unlikely of suspects: Dr. Emmett Hesse. Respected, admired, and revered by the medical community and patients alike, Hesse embodies the Hippocratic oath, “First, do no harm.” But behind his kind eyes and gentle demeanor lies a terrifying secret—one that threatens to shatter everything he holds dear.

The Unlikely Sinner is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat as the dark past unravels and the true nature of justice is revealed.

What Are Readers Saying?

Terrific Read
I read The Unlikely Sinner in two sittings. In short, it's a terrific psychological thriller spanning two continents. In it the author explores the relationship between a certain father and his sensitive son. In this case, it explores the issues of Holocaust survivor's s children who often shoulder the horrific and traumatizing memories of the parent who unburden themselves at the child's expense. Oh, and it's a murder mystery. I loved it.

The Unlikely Sinner is a brilliant cat and mouse story of danger, deceit, and detection. The thing that makes this appealing is that it is not a formulaic mystery. To the contrary, the reader knows from the start who the killer is, so it is all about the characters piecing things together as the murderer’s deep-seated issues lead him on a murderous path. Very harrowing.
